Food safety of PVC fresh-keeping film

in response to this problem, in late May, the president of the European Association of polyethylene film manufacturers (EPFMA) and France's linparker plastic Pontivy, a professional European manufacturer of fresh-keeping film, exchanged regulations and technical standards on the production of fresh-keeping film with all relevant personnel of the General Administration of quality supervision, inspection and quarantine and the Shanghai Municipal Health Bureau

It works with the European Commission to study and formulate regulations on film production, and is committed to promoting the improvement of product quality and the innovation of production technology

The president of EPFMA Association introduced in detail the production regulations and quality standards of PVC fresh-keeping films in Europe at the exchange meeting:

the fresh-keeping films used in various foods are different. The higher the fat content of food, the stricter the restrictions on the fresh-keeping film. Because the additives in the fresh-keeping film will interact with the oil, most fresh-keeping films on the market at present cannot directly package high-fat food

in Europe, there are very strict regulations to define the different kinds of fresh-keeping films used for different foods, and give a special number to the fresh-keeping film. For example, No. 4 fresh-keeping film without sharp edges, sharp corners and ordinary meat, sausage and frozen food with remanence packaging cannot be used to package butter, cream and other food; No. 1 plastic wrap, which can be used for cooking in microwave oven, can pack all food. EPFMA Association and relevant European administrative departments will regularly spot check the fresh-keeping film in supermarkets and other places. If the fresh-keeping film that is spot checked does not meet the standards of corresponding regulations, the manufacturer of the fresh-keeping film will be disqualified from membership of EPFMA Association, which means that this kind of fresh-keeping film has lost the guarantee of food safety

the current European regulations on packaging materials in direct contact with food are: 89/109/eec, 90/128/eec, 82/711/eec and 85/572/eec, in which 90/128/eec stipulates the mobility limit of substances in plastic packaging materials: 60mg/kg or 10mg/d ㎡ + -3 of food. The amount of migration of substances in fresh-keeping films produced in South Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Thailand exceeds the above standards. Therefore, for the sake of food hygiene and human health, fresh-keeping films produced in these places cannot be sold in the European market

there is a special laboratory lne in Europe to test the safety of PVC fresh-keeping film microwave oven. The test is to measure whether the migration of substances in the fresh-keeping film meets the regulations under simulated conditions (simulated food, temperature, time) according to the provisions of European regulations. The preservative film for microwave oven of the coal based fine chemical phase 1 project of Xinjiang Guotai Xinhua Mining Co., Ltd. is mainly to measure whether there is any substance in the preservative film that has migrated into the food and polluted the food under high temperature conditions, that is, when the food and the preservative film are heated or even boiled. For example, the triolin microwave oven fresh-keeping film produced by French company limpark has been proved in this test that it can withstand a high temperature of 175 ℃ for up to 1 hour, that is, in daily microwave cooking, there will be no substances harmful to human body into the food

compared with American FDA standards, European regulations pay more attention to the impact of substances in food packaging materials on food, that is, the direct impact on human health, while American FDA standards pay more attention to the impact of food packaging materials on nature

Europe 7. The regulation of microcomputer controlled whole experiment process has always been the strictest in terms of food safety and public health. Recently, the EPFMA Association and the legislative body of the European Commission are discussing the establishment of stricter Migration Regulations for direct contact with food packaging materials in 2004, that is, restrictions on the use of plasticizer ingredients (drha) in materials. At that time, the migration restrictions of 10mg/dm2+-3 in 90/128/eec will be further tightened. French company limpak has always been at the forefront of fresh-keeping film manufacturing technology. In May this year, they have fully launched the latest special fresh-keeping film for fat food, that is, the fresh-keeping film with DEHA migration of only 3mg/d ㎡. This kind of fresh-keeping film has reached the standard of the new European regulations to be introduced in 2004. Other European fresh-keeping film manufacturers will follow suit and jointly launch new standards

At the exchange meeting, the General Administration of quality supervision, inspection and quarantine and the food hygiene department also introduced China's industrial standards and management systems in this regard, so that European representatives had a clearer understanding of China's current regulations and management methods

the relevant departments of our country are very interested in this exchange activity, especially the strict requirements of European countries on food packaging hygiene, as well as the good communication and cooperation between industry associations and government legislatures. Both sides hope to further maintain close contact, strengthen cooperation and exchange needed goods on the basis of this exchange

through this exchange activity, you can see that in Europe, PVC fresh-keeping film is a widely used food packaging product due to the very strict regulations and testing system for the invalidation of this sample; In China, with the further improvement of laws and regulations in this area and the further standardization of management, the fresh-keeping film of PVC material will play its superior performance in all aspects and occupy an important position in the field of food packaging
